A brass playing condition includes the following:

All easily accessible minor dents are removed. The horn is dissassembled and dipped in a safe but effective chemical cleaning solution. All slides, tubes, and the valve casings are thoroughly brushed out and rinsed. Valves and inner slide tubes are buffed and cleaned. Horn is then ragged out to remove any remaining dirt/residue. Waterkey corks and valve felts are replaced if needed. Valves are lubricated, reinstalled and checked for proper operation and alignment. Slides are greased, aligned and reinstalled. Instrument is then test played. Waterkey and valve springs are replaced if needed. Strung rotary valves are restrung.

*All prices listed should be viewed as rough estimates and are subject to change at any time. A firm estimate can be given upon inspection at no extra charge. Parts, badly damaged instruments and pro models additional. Mouthpiece clean/polish/straighten shank add $10.

*Unless prior arrangements are made, payment is due in full upon completion of repair. Instruments not picked up within 30 days of notification that repairs are complete may be sold to cover cost of repairs.

French horn rotary valves and caps, before chemical cleaning and after. A good chemical cleaning can do the same for the inside of your horn!

Woodwind playing condition

A woodwind playing condition includes the following:

All tenons/joint connections are checked for proper fit. Pivot screws and hinge rods are checked for proper tightness. Keys are checked for excessive play. Pads are inspected and replaced as needed. Keycorks/felts replaced if missing or damaged. Key cups are leveled and checked for bowing of cup. Action is adjusted and regulated as needed. Action and tenon corks are lubricated, joint connections are polished and instrument is test played.
